Method

These movies were made with a Hamamatsu C8484 digital video camera using the software program Wasabi for time-lapse frame capture and QuickTime Pro for encoding frames into movies. Embryos were mounted in egg salts on 2% agarose pads, using a #1.5 glass coverslip, and sealed with vaseline grease. Embryos were filmed on a Nikon Eclipse TE2000 using a Nikon Plan Apo 100x oil-immersion lens and a Nikon high NA oil condenser. All imaging was done at room temperature.
